Care Philosophy
I believe in improving people's lives by helping to eradicate disease. I stand for preservation of health and feel passionately that everyone deserves to have access to care from trained professionals that have dedicated their lives to making others healthier. I believe this is a basic human right and we as providers must strive to bring both professionalism and competency to this pursuit.
About Susan E. Adkins, APRN
Susan Adkins, APRN, is a Nurse Practitioner in Fort Myers, Florida, with a career spanning over three decades.
She began her journey in healthcare at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduating as a nurse practitioner in 1987. Her early career at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) involved developing a nurse residency program, revising ICU protocols, and assisting with the certification of a stroke program. Over the years, she has cultivated a broad expertise as a nurse practitioner in cardiology, internal medicine, and gastroenterology.
In 2021, Susan moved to Florida, where she worked with a local healthcare company to bring IB-Stim therapy to the community. This innovative treatment for functional abdominal pain in adolescents inspired her to explore similar care for adults, deepening her passion for bridging research, technology, and patient-centered care.
Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, Susan is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care. Outside of her work, she enjoys cycling, hiking, gardening, and cheering for football. She and her husband live in Fort Myers with their two teacup Pomeranians.
