About Deborah A. Brauer, MD
Deborah A. Brauer, MD, earned her B.A. in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She spent two years in healthcare consulting at Accenture in Washington, D.C., before pursuing her M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.
After medical school, Dr. Brauer returned to the D.C. region for her residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital, where she was honored as the 2007 “Resident of the Year.” She continued her specialty training at GWU, completing a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Brauer’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, small bowel wireless capsule endoscopy, liver disease, and colorectal cancer screening, specifically for women and minorities. She was recently honored by her colleagues in the Washingtonian "Top Doctors" section as a “Rising Star” in the field of gastroenterology.
Dedicated to patient-centered care, Dr. Brauer strives to establish a strong, open dialogue with her patients to ensure she provides quality, responsive, and compassionate care. She is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Brauer lives in Northern Virginia, where she enjoys running, skiing, and cooking.
