About Raouf E. Hilal, MD, AGAF, FACG
Dr. Raouf Hilal is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist practicing in Maitland, FL. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the College of Charleston in 1992 and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1996. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 2002.
Since completing his training at Baylor, Dr. Hilal has dedicated his career to serving patients throughout the Central Florida and Orlando areas, earning multiple professional awards for clinical excellence. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (Gastroenterology subspecialty) and maintains active memberships in the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the Florida Medical Association. He is also multilingual and fluent in Arabic.
Known for his compassionate approach, Dr. Hilal emphasizes a holistic model of care in managing gastrointestinal disorders. He specializes in gastroesophageal disorders, H. pylori, peptic ulcer disease, and functional GI and motility disorders like gastroparesis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Additionally, his expertise includes the diagnosis of GI tract cancers, as well as the management of liver and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Hilal possesses advanced skills in therapeutic GI procedures, including the innovative use of Botox injections for various specialized GI disorders.
