Brian A. Brunson, MD

Dr. Brunson, a Birmingham native, joined Gastro Health in July 2012 and practices at the Grandview location, performing general GI procedures at the Grandview Endoscopy Center and advanced endoscopy procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), at Grandview Medical Center, where he currently serves as Gastroenterology Division Director. He has special interests in screening and prevention of gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Brunson completed his internship and residency at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham and his GI fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Brunson is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the ASGE EUS Special Interest Group, the American College of Gastroenterology, the Alabama Gastroenterological Society, and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.

Dr. Brunson and his wife, Joy, have four children, and he is active in his church. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and attending Auburn University sporting events. He also has a strong interest in medical missions and has participated in multiple mission trips to Guatemala.
