About Byungki Kim, MD
Dr. Kim is a talented gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist. After completing his fellowship training, he began his medical career as an assistant professor of medicine at Penn State Medical School. While there, he also conducted research in microscopic colitis, inflammatory bowel disease and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
After a year, he decided to enter private practice. To be closer to family, Dr. Kim and his wife returned to the Northern Virginia area where he grew up. He joined the medical staff at Gastro Health, formerly GANV, in 2000.
In addition to general GI care, Dr. Kim performs advanced procedures to diagnose and treat acute, chronic and recurrent GI issues. He is a leading member of the Advanced Endoscopy Center at Inova Fairfax Hospital and has served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
