Jaime A. Oviedo, MD, FACG

Dr. Jaime Oviedo is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist in Chelmsford, MA, with a special interest in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of peptic ulcer disease and GI bleeding. He also has extensive experience in managing both acute and chronic liver disease.

Dr. Oviedo is actively involved in clinical research, with published articles on acid reflux disease, colorectal cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. He has also contributed to textbooks, including Cecil’s Essentials of Medicine.

Before joining Gastro Health, Dr. Oviedo spent five years at Boston Medical Center, where he remains an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. In 2011, he was appointed the section coordinator for Gastrointestinal Training at MetroWest Medical Center’s Residency Program. Dr. Oviedo is fluent in both English and Spanish.

He has developed a strong expertise in obesity and weight management, serving on the Advisory Board for MetroWest Medical Center’s Bariatric Surgery Center. Dr. Oviedo is an active member of the Association for Bariatric Endoscopy and is certified in the ReShape Balloon™ integrated dual balloon procedure for weight loss.
