About Jim B. McPhail, MD

Dr. Jim McPhail is a dedicated gastroenterologist practicing in Birmingham, AL. Committed to providing exceptional care to his patients, he specializes in colon cancer screenings, inflammatory bowel disease, swallowing disorders, and more.
 
Dr. McPhail earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology.
 
In his free time, Dr. McPhail enjoys grilling, running, and spending time with his wife and two children. He is also an active member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
