About James S. Leavitt, MD, FACG

Dr. James Leavitt is the Director of Clinical Quality and Outcomes for Gastro Health, serving as the physician lead for improved patient outcomes and research initiatives. Throughout his extensive career with the organization, he has held the positions of President and Chief Clinical Officer. As a founding physician of Gastro Health, Dr. Leavitt played a pivotal role in expanding the organization from its initial four-physician practice to the current multi-state gastrointestinal platform. He has been in private practice in Miami since 1980.

Effective January 2025, Dr. Leavitt will transition his focus to research projects and his role as Director of Clinical Quality and Outcomes at Gastro Health and will no longer be seeing patients. His distinguished partners from his practice are well-equipped to continue managing your medical care.
