About Atul V. Marathe, MD, FACP
Dr. Atul Marathe is a distinguished gastroenterologist based in Northern Virginia. Originally from Gaithersburg, MD, Dr. Marathe pursued his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. He earned his M.D. from the Howard University College of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
Dr. Marathe completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, where he was honored with the Resident Teaching Award for his exceptional contributions to medical education. He is dedicated to providing top-tier, patient-centered care. Dr. Marathe combines his extensive medical knowledge with a compassionate approach, ensuring each patient receives personalized attention and the highest quality of treatment.
Fast Track Screening Colonoscopy
Dr. Marathe provides a service called Fast Track Colonoscopy, which is a regular colonoscopy that does not require prior consultation before the colonoscopy procedure. Fast Track Colonoscopy saves patients time, money, and minimizes work absences for doctor visits. Fast Track is for adults 45 or older with an average risk for colorectal cancer that do not have any existing GI symptoms.
