Minal M. Patel, MD

Dr. Patel was born in New York and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She moved to Virginia where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University, and then completed her medical studies at Georgetown University. She completed her medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and then her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. While there, Dr. Patel also received specialized training in Endoscopic ultrasound. She has authored many abstracts and has presented her research at conferences around the country. She joined The Gastroenterology Group in 2011. The Gastroenterology Group joined Gastro Health on September 1, 2021.

Her professional interests include advanced endoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, pancreatic disorders, and colorectal cancer screening. She loves to cook, bake, and travel the world with her husband and their two children, learning about different cultures and most importantly their cuisine. Dr. Patel is also conversational in Spanish. She has been listed as a top physician in Northern Virginia Magazine and the Washingtonian.
