Gap Year Program in Chelmsford, MA

Gap Year Medical Assistants will be able to hone skills in bedside manner, compassion, and empathy in a real clinical setting. They will take medical histories, obtain vital signs, prepare patients for live and telemedicine visits, and assist physicians with minor surgical office procedures. Once trained, Gap Year Medical Assistants will perform breath tests, ultrasound-based tests, and pill camera tests. These procedures are performed independently, offering great educational value to pre-medical students looking to develop strong interpersonal skills in a patient care setting.

Each Gap Year Medical Assistant will be paired with a physician who will serve as their primary mentor throughout the program. This mentorship not only provides guidance and support but also allows Gap Year Medical Assistants to shadow their assigned physician and other physicians within the practice.
