Criteria For Rankings
U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 5,000 ambulatory surgery centers in four specialty areas: Colonoscopy & Endoscopy, Orthopedics & Spine, Ophthalmology (eye surgery), and Urology. Three years of Medicare data were analyzed to evaluate how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations, and other undesirable outcomes.
