About Pradeep K. Bekal, MD, FACG, FASGE

Pradeep K. Bekal, MD, FACG, FASGE, is the clinical leader for Ohio, working closely with the Division Vice President providing strategic and operational support to all its providers and care centers. In addition, he provides physician leadership in clinical governance, compliance, credentialing, business development, and across all ancillary divisions.

Dr. Bekal graduated from Madras Medical School in Madras, India, and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed two fellowships at Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center and at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Board Certified in Gastroenterology, he has a special interest in endoscopic modalities of treatment for complex pancreatobiliary disorders. He is proficient in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and was one of the first physicians in the Tristate to do these advanced endoscopic procedures. He is proud to be listed as a Top Doc in Cincinnati Magazine’s annual survey of local providers.

Along with patient care, Dr. Bekal is also a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials at the practice. His trials looked at the efficacy and safety of new drugs to treat IBD, IBS, and esophagitis. He is the Director of Endoscopy at The Christ Hospital. He is actively involved in teaching medical students from the University of Cincinnati and residents from Christ Hospital and serves as a preceptor for undergraduate students at Miami University (Ohio). He is a fellow of both the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Bekal serves on the executive committee of the national Digestive Health Physicians Association, works in the community to raise awareness of GI health, and is on the board of a local cultural advocacy group. Dr. Bekal was named to the board of the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority. He is married with two children and is interested in travel.
