About Maria M. Dutra, PA-C
Maria is enthusiastic about patient care and has the unique ability to place patients at ease. She is personable and relatable to her patients. Her passion for medicine started in high school as she became a physician trained medical assistant in the early 80’s. She took a short break to raise a family yet her passion for medicine remained. While juggling motherhood, with three young children, she gained her Bachelor of Science as a physician assistant, with an M.M.S. from Nova Southeastern in 1999. She remains at the same practice for the past twenty years with an emphasis on internal medicine, primary care and gastroenterology. She is a native Floridian and is passionate and dedicated to the understanding of climate change on patient health. She is an activist for policy change in environmental health and a steward of the earth. For the past six years she volunteered with Sea Turtle Oversight Protection, an organization dedicated to the rescue and promotion of sea turtles.
