Gastro Health, a national leading medical group specializing in digestive and liver health, has signed a definitive agreement to partner with Digestive Care Center based in North Miami. The deal is scheduled to close on December 1.

The Digestive Care Center is home to Eduardo Kofman, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist, who founded the practice in 1997 in Texas and moved it to North Miami in 2008. Dr. Kofman and his team are committed to providing each patient personalized, efficient and reliable care.

“We are excited to partner with Dr. Kofman and expand our network in the North Miami market,” said Gastro Health CEO Joseph Garcia. “The Digestive Care Center’s approach to patient care fits perfectly within our mission.”

“I evaluated options for the future of my practice and saw the value in partnering with a proven leader in the GI space,” said Eduardo Kofman, MD. “The Gastro Health partnership gives my team access to technology and support tools to improve our workflows and ultimately, our patients’ healthcare experience.”

This latest acquisition by Gastro Health is part of a continued national growth and expansion period in the single-specialty gastroenterology sector over the last three years. Gastro Health has a presence in six states – Florida, Alabama, Washington, Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland – with over 125 locations and 310 physicians consisting of medical office practices, infusion centers, imaging services, and a specialty pharmacy. Additionally, Gastro Health owns and operates endoscopy centers in five of the six states and operates pathology and anesthesia services.
